The Movie Of Your Life Is A Cult Classic

Quirky, offbeat, and even a little campy - your life appeals to a select few.
But if someone's obsessed with you, look out! Your fans are downright freaky.

Your best movie matches: Office Space, Showgirls, The Big Lebowski

In a Past Life...

You Were: A Redhead Priest.

Where You Lived: Quebec.

How You Died: Killed in Battle.

It's Friday and I'm very glad. Yesterday was very long and very busy. Not bad, just long and busy. I woke up too early this morning and I'm tired. The construction workers started with the hammering and the drilling as soon as I got here. At least they managed to close the huge gaping hole in the back wall yesterday, i.e., the coldest day since I moved here.

The novel still trucks along. I've written everyday, but I haven't checked word count for fear of how far behind I am and it de-motivating me. The novel is going in strange directions, and I wonder if I've lost a bit of focus. Several characters I thought of as minor are crying out for attention. One of them in particular is becoming far more nuanced and interesting than I ever imagined. Hmmmmm . . .

This weekend is devoted to reading, writing, listening to music and cooking. I'm thinking of making a big pot of chili to tide me over until I leave for Thanksgiving. They had a chili cookoff at the law school a couple of weeks ago and I talked to the winner yesterday and he gave me a secret I may try (I'll share if it works).

I mention music because, for some reason, I haven't listened to much music since I moved here. When I put music on, I find it very, very satisfying and relaxing. Since my pre-teens, music has been an important part of my life and I haven't listened to much while here. I listen to my iPod when I walk to work (it's gotten a bit cold and it's dark when I leave so it's the bus these days). Occasionally, I'll play my Launchcast in my office through headphones while I work (although not consistently). So more music this weekend, probably while I write.

I maintain that your novel taking off on its own is a good sign. Just let it flow, Daddy-O! ;) I'm glad to hear that you're still writing every day.

Your weekend sounds wonderful. Enjoy it.

I made chili on Wednesday. This is a good time of year for chili! :)

Yes. Although isn't any time a good time for chili? ;)

Almost. I'm less likely to make it / eat it when it's hot out, much more likely during the fall and winter. :)

So?? Did the chili secret work? Don't forget to share.

It came out pretty good. The secret, as I told Dad on the phone the other night, is to use BBQ sauce instead of tomato paste. It does change the flavor quite a bit.
