The Great Train North

Paul Krugman's piece in today's online New York Times talks about how the current political philosophy is driving jobs out of this country.

To Canada. Yes, Canada.

Does anyone else think this country's collapse is imminent?

On positive American news, Lance Armstrong won his seventh consecutive Tour de France. I highly recommend his It's Not About the Bike that I read a couple of years ago. His scene in Dodgeball which I watched yesterday is the centerpiece of that movie.

The majority of Americans will celebrate his victory by flipping the TV channel with the remote while eating another Ho-ho and wondering how to pay their credit card bill.

I haven't read the article yet, but we talked about American protectionism moving jobs to Canada in macroeconomics last semester.
