Bravo, Mr. Lincoln

Sunday morning. I went to the grocery store to buy the paper. There were too many people there, and they were all nice to each other. I suspect they had just left church and were feeling the need to be cordial. (Love thy nieghbor and such.)

So I felt like a heathen, which is a nice feeling. And then this morning I found this quote by Abe Lincoln, and it struck me (perhaps you've heard it before):

"When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion."

Why can't it just be that simple for everyone?

That's pretty much my ethic in a nutshell.

Really? Lucky you. I know some, but I don't think it's true of most people.
