Starting with The Exorcist, Hendrix analyzes the shifts, styles, fascinations, and culture behind the boom as well as the factors that led to its end. Wisely, Hendrix includes pictures and sidebars about artists who illustrated many of the eye-catching covers of these books. Essential reading for horror fans and a lot of fun.
