Life on MarsLife on Mars by Tracy K. Smith

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A touch of science and science fiction, along with pop culture references (Bowie is a key figure in a couple of poems) adds depth to these poems that are about life in the present moment. The poet's father worked on the Hubble Space Telescope and many of the poems deal with loss, including the loss of him. One of my personal favorites is "The Good Life," which you can read here.
