The Book of JoanThe Book of Joan by Lidia Yuknavitch

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A beautiful, harrowing vision of the future by, in my opinion, one of the best writers of the current time. Humanity, or ostensibly what's left of it, a neutered race led by a megalomaniac celebrity, orbits the dead Earth. The story of Joan, etched on a woman's body, may be the only salvation. The writing and story are gorgeous, full of humanity and honesty. One of the best novels I have ever read.
