The Scarlet GospelsThe Scarlet Gospels by Clive Barker

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The disappointing final chapter in Barker's telling of his legendary creation, the cenobyte known as Pinhead, the priest of hell, battling Harry D'Amour, a detective of the supernatural. While there is plenty of blood and gore, and plenty of Barker's visionary appeal, the book and most notably the characters are not interesting or compelling. The pacing is off, the book often drags, and by the end it is just a relentless slog literally through hell.
