Tonight was fun.

After work and a brief appointment, I went to a talk by Will Shortz, who is the crossword puzzle editor for the New York Times. He is the only academically accredited enigmatologist in the world. As an undergraduate at Indiana University, he created his own major in the study of puzzles. He wrote a thesis about word puzzles and puzzle-writing in America prior to 1860.

He talked for 20 minutes or so about his favorite Times puzzles. Then he answered some audience questions. He wrapped up his talk dividing the audience in half and pitting us against each other in some word puzzles.

I need to do more crosswords. Perhaps I'll start with Monday's. :)
