OvalOval by Elvia Wilk

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In the future, the economy of Berlin focuses on sustainability, and Anja and Louis take a house on the Berg, a new eco-friendly development. However, the house is becoming less and less habitable. Meanwhile, Louis has an idea for Oval, a drug that makes people more generous; he's convinced it is the solution to growing income inequality. This is a smart, brilliant debut novel that despite its science fiction elements feels eerily like real life. It is, to date, the best book I've read this year. Highest recommendation.
