So I spent a wonderful weekend in Charlotte, NC with rosepurr. We did a lot of what we do when we get together. We ate well, we snuggled. I got in Friday night and we found a tasty Mexican place near rosepurr's hotel for a late dinner (apparently, it's a chain, but I hadn't eaten there before and we both really liked it).

We toured Charlotte, which is a really nice city, loaded with money as Wachovia and Bank of America both have their corporate headquarters there. I could see myself living there. On Saturday, we had brunch with one of rosepurr's coworkers at a place called Brio. Fabulous. Then we went to a mall that had a wing of the very high end stuff. While we didn't have shopping accidents, in Neiman Marcus, I tried on a $1500 Armani jacket that I loved (unfortunately, I don't see it online). I looked dashing. :P I also found a store in which I loved EVERYTHING!!! (See it here.) Okay, so it's my dream to dress like an old English professor. Hell, I don't just want the look. Sometimes I long for that whole life. Well, except for the crappy job market and the other attendant bullshit.

Sunday, after a languid morning, we went to the Bodyworlds exhibition at Discovery Place. It's really interesting and disturbing since it uses real cadavers. Then we went to a phenomenal hangout called the Village Tavern where I had several martinis and too much wonderfully rich food.

Today we browsed around a different mall and had shopping accidents - books for me, clothes for rosepurr. Then I hopped a plane and came back today. I drove back to this empty apartment as the sun went down. In an appropriate analogy, the sunset wasn't terribly interesting, a thin pink smear amidst darkening clouds.

This list of activities shapes the weekend, but doesn't really describe it. It was just a good weekend, active and full of affection and tenderness without feeling rushed or like we had some grand agenda. It's been great having time together. We have spent every weekend together for the last month and it has been glorious. She will be here this coming one as well, so I only have to muddle through 3 days.

*hugs* Sounds like you had a great time. I'm hopeful for the day the two of you can be home together again.

Soon, very soon. Although rosepurr will still be on the road a lot even when she's technically "home." :)

I have no idea what the last 2 sentences of your comment mean. Is there a word missing?

No.....it sounds like it was a great weekend and I can see you in those clothes, from that designer you found that you like. The 2 aren't related at all, maybe that's the problem?
