Pedicure

Yesterday, Rosepurr's mom took me for a pedicure, a very belated birthday present. As some of you know, I have a lot of trouble with my feet. I suffer from plantar fasciitis, for which I wear orthodics in my shoes. Without them, I'd be in constant agony; with them, my feet are only a moderate source of discomfort. Thus, I don't wear flip-flops or sandals. While I like having bare feet, I can't walk around for long stretches without arch support. Minor in the scheme of things, but frustrating at times. It may get worse as I get older.

So the pedicure was a wonderful gift. This was actually a spa pedicure in which they soak them in jacuzzi-type water between massages, lotions, and scrubbings. I opted not to get the nails painted, although I wasn't adverse to it. For a bit afterwards yesterday, I felt like I was floating. My feet felt wonderful.

So pampering is a wonderful thing. I don't treat myself well enough. That goes for not just luxuriating my feet, but eating right, exercise, etc. It's true of everyone, I suppose, but we should treat ourselves better than we do.

There's my insight for the day . . .

Wunnerful! I have arch problems as well, but if you have the money and get a chance to try them out, they make high arch Birkenstocks. They are limited to the basic styles and only available in one or two colors though. I wear my pair all year long and they help greatly. :)
