Since I last updated regarding reading, I've read 3 books and 2 graphic novels. Both the graphics (Powers: Little Deaths and 100 Bullets: First Shot, Last Call) were just okay, in my opinion so I'll talk about the other books more.

A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore - Christopher Moore is hysterical and this book about death has some very funny moments. It also has some very poignant moments. However, it's not his best book. I recommend it for Christopher Moore fans, but those who haven't read him should start elsewhere (try Lamb or The Stupidest Angel).

The Cat's Pajamas and Other Stories by James Morrow - In case you don't know, James Morrow is one of the finest writers writing today. Period. No doubt about it. Morrow delves into religion and science and culture with unmatched acuity and his prose is magnificent. This collection is just a couple of years old and it's fantastic. Highly recommended.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon - This book was a bit of a literary sensation a couple of years ago and I just read it (via audiobook) on my last trip to L'ville. It's about a 15-year-old British boy with Asperger's Syndrome who sets out to investigate the murder of a dog in his neighborhood. Told from the boy's point of view, the story unfolds in a way that allows the reader to figure things out before the narrator does. The story is a bit contrived, but I enjoyed it immensely nonetheless. Highly recommended.
