Me and Terri
Feeling much better. The plague lifted late yesterday afternoon, dissipating as quickly as it had arrived. It's Sunday afternoon and I'm sitting here drinking coffee and listening to the Drive-By Truckers. They rock.

I went running this morning for the first time in forever. I'm tired of how I look and how I feel. It does not help that my friend Drew recently did his first marathon. I ran a lot when I was in high school and college and truly not much since.

So today I was out for almost an hour. I had my iPod shuffle with my "upbeat" playlist to keep me motivated.* It wasn't all running, but I feel better for having done it.

Why are some things that are good for us so hard? I always feel better after I run, yet I can never get motivated to do it. I always feel better after cooking a healthy meal, yet I frequently just throw some crap in the microwave or, worse, swing by the drive-through.

On a related note, I want to see if anybody has any bean recipes they care to share? I love beans, they're healthy and filling, and I'm looking for more (preferably easy) recipes for them, outside of chili and burritos. Thanks.

*While many people already know this, I don't think I wrote here that I recently won a contest and got one of the fancy-shmancy video iPods with 30GB. I think it will hold almost all the music I own. What overflowed the Shuffle doesn't even make a dent on this thing.
