Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour BookstoreMr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a fun read that did my bibliophile heart good, while it firmly embraces and welcomes technological advances. After the start-up he's working for in San Francisco fails, Clay Jannon takes the late night shift at Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore. He soon learns that the bookstore is not all it seems; there is also a lending library in the back of arcane books that are borrowed by a select few. Penumbra asks for details on all their visits and soon curiosity takes over. Clay finds himself deep in a mystery that has been unsolved almost from the development of the printing press. Enlisting his friends, including his girlfriend who works at Google, he sets out to solve the unsolvable. It's a fun, quick read and a total blast.
