Religion for Atheists: A Non-believer's Guide to the Uses of ReligionReligion for Atheists: A Non-believer's Guide to the Uses of Religion by Alain de Botton

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

While non-believers are quick to point that it is illogical and irrational, religion offers its followers strong ideas about how to organize their societies and provides insight into how to live and how to nourish our souls. That said, some of his prescriptions are problematic and I found myself arguing with him a lot (he seems to advocate for corporations quite a bit, to my mind). It's well-written, thoughtful, and provocative, but unsatisfying and troublesome.
