Last night was very nice. rosepurr and I got together with cc_wolff and celticmll for dinner at Anatolia, which is one of our favorite restaurants here in town. We don't get to see them often enough these days, and we also don't get to eat at Anatolia as often as we would prefer.

Then we went over to Cheekwood. Many years ago, Cheekwood was part of the estate of the wealthy people who owned Maxwell House. Now it is a museum and botanical garden. Currently, they are exhibiting some of the glass work of Dale Chihuly. rosepurr and I have frequented several exhibitions of Chihuly now; it's part of us as a couple. So the four of us went over to Cheekwood for one of its "Chihuly Nights." Cheekwood is typically closed at 6 pm, but on Thursdays & Fridays during the Chihuly exhibit, they are opening the grounds and lighting it up so the glass can be seen in the dark. Chihuly's work strives for a sense of the organic, so it fits well amidst the natural beauty of the garden. I used my iPhone to take lots of pictures. I'll try to post those soon.

We only walked around for about an hour, but we were all tired and sweaty thanks to the oppressive humidity. It is truly the dog days of summer.
