Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us by Seth Godin

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I'm never quite sure about books like this. They have an optimistic tone that makes the reader feel like they can take on the world. In this book, Seth Godin sets out to show how the Internet has changed things (really????) and to differentiate between a manager and a leader. A leader can be anywhere in an organization, even if they have no authority at all, and a leader is an impetus for necessary change. Change isn't made by asking permission, Godin says; change is made by asking forgiveness after the fact. He may be right, but it's a simple message that may be a little too pat and a little too dependent on the organization.
